Subject: When Hollinger Mines was opening up a new site in northern Quebec, it had to fly all the equipment in during the winters. Rather than charter aircraft, the company established its own freight airline, Hollinger Ungava Transport, taking advantage of the large number of military surplus DC-3/Dakotas available. The painting depicts a crew unloading an arriving DC-3 and moving the freight to one of the original Bombardier over-snow vehicles.
