Subject: This painting was commissioned as an illustration for a book on Canadian participation in the air war in Korea, and documents the mission on which Lt. J.O'Brien, (a Canadian loan to the US Navy) led a successful strike over Korea, for which he received the United States Distinguished Flying Cross. The aircraft is O'Brien's Grumman F9F Panther as it climbs off the target. The painting is currently the property of the Shearwater Aviation Museum in Halifax, NS.
